Go To The Park, FEE FREE!

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced 17 days in 2012 that visitors can get into national parks for free. On January 14-16, April 21-29, June 9, September 29 and November 10-12, the usual entry fees will be waived. For more information, go to www.nps.gov/findapark/feefreeparks.htm. Also, the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Forest Service are waiving their entrance and standard amenity fees on January 14-16, June 9, September 29 and November 10-12. Fish and Wildlife is recognizing National Wildlife Refuge Week by waiving fees on October 14th and the Bureau of Reclamation will waive standard amenity fees on September 29 and November 12. Some park-related lodgings, restaurants, gift shops and tour operators will be offering special deals on fee-free days.
