Be Surprised by the West Valley

The western region of the Valley of the Sun holds a surprising variety of activities and attractions. The beautiful White Tank Mountains are the western-most range of the Valley. There’s great hiking there, with amazing views of the entire West Valley. In northern Peoria is Lake Pleasant, with camping, marinas, and lots of boating and fishing opportunities. Further northwest is charming Wickenburg, a true Old West town with fun festivals and shopping.

In Glendale, you can attend NFL games at the retractable field stadium where the Arizona Cardinals play. The Sun Cities, Surprise, and El Mirage all offer great choices in golf courses, and in Litchfield Park, you can see animals from around the world at the Wildlife World Zoo. Enjoy a baseball game at one of four West Valley Arizona Cactus League stadiums from late February through March.

South along I-10 are the rapidly growing cities of Tolleson, Avondale, Litchfield Park, Goodyear and Buckeye. Continuing West, brings you to Tonopah where you can experience a quiet desert escape with wide-open spaces, dark night skies for stargazing, and natural hot springs.
