Be Surprised by the West Valley

The western region of the Valley of the Sun holds a surprising variety of activities and attractions. The beautiful White Tank Mountains are the western-most range of the Valley. There’s great hiking there, with amazing views of the entire West Valley. Further west is charming Wickenburg, a true Old West town, with fun festivals and shopping. In northern Peoria is Lake Pleasant, the second largest lake in Arizona, with camping, marina and lots of boating and fishing opportunities.

In Glendale, you can attend NFL games at the retractable field stadium where the Arizona Cardinals play. The Sun Cities, Surprise and El Mirage all offer great choices in golf courses, and in Litchfield Park you can see animals from around the world at the Wildlife World Zoo. Enjoy a game at one of four West Valley Arizona Cactus League stadiums from late February through March.

South along I-10 are the rapidly growing cities of Tolleson, Avondale, Litchfield Park, Goodyear and Buckeye before heading into open desert.

In all cities within the West Valley, you can find fine dining, entertainment and much more in the way of scenic beauty and attractions. And a selection of museums and concert venues are nearby in downtown Phoenix.
